Brown, Cobb & Co.

: Brown, Cobb et Co. :: Brown & Siordet

The bank belonging to Timothy Yeats Brown in London.

Timothy Yeats Brown did business under the name Brown, Cobb et Co. at 66 Lombard Street, London, according to the Post Office Annual Directory for 1814. The abbreviation “Co.” possibly stands for Siordet. No trace can be found of “Brown et Siordet”, which is the name given by Johann Conrad Fischer. The name Siordet probably refers to the Genevan banker J. M. Siordet. The address 66 Lombard Street is also confirmed in a letter written by Johann Conrad Fischer to Yeats Brown, dated 15 October 1814.
