Martineau, John

1789 – 6. January 1832

An English sugar refiner, engineer and a business partner of Johann Conrad Fischer.

John Martineau was co-owner of Taylor & Martineau, a foundry and mechanical engineering firm. He was the father of John Martineau Junior.

Johann Conrad Fischer concluded three licence agreements with John Martineau and other business partners between 1825 and 1827. Under these agreements, the partners were allowed to produce Fischer’s nickel-steel alloy. Johann Conrad Fischer Junior joined the partnership in 1827.
