Sanderson, Charles

1803 – 1873

English steel manufacturer and inventor; owner of a steel mill in Sheffield.

Charles Sanderson was the second son of John Sanderson, the owner of Sanderson Brothers and Co. He patented several inventions in the field of metal production and was said to be a talented mineralogist.

Sanderson was a good friend of Johann Conrad Fischer, and they saw each other several times during Fischer’s visits to England.
